At Big Roast we naturally specialise in spit roasted meats. However, we can also provide high quality, freshly prepared dessert to finish off your event in style.

Big Roast desserts are priced at £5 per portion, and are offered in units of 10 servings. Desserts are served in slices or from bowls, but individual servings can usually be provided on request. All desserts are offered with a choice of pouring cream or fruit coulis.

FRUIT DESSERTS

  • Summer Fruit – Salad in Vanilla Syrup Fresh, seasonal fruit and berries macerated in a light vanilla syrup, served with Greek yogurt or crème fraiche
  • Tropical Fruit – Salad Passion fruit, papaya, pineapple, mango and banana in a lime and Malibu syrup
  • Summer Pudding – Traditional summer pudding of fresh mixed berries in a juice-soaked bread case

CHOCOLATE INDULGENCE

  • Chocolate Mousses – Extremely rich, individual chocolate pots, flavoured with Cognac
  • Chocolate Tart – Pastry case filled with a baked chocolate filling
  • Chocolate Truffle Torte – Almond and amaretti biscuit base topped with a rich chocolate truffle filling – insanely rich and delicious!
  • Sachertorte – Rich, Austrian chocolate cake covered in a glossy, dark chocolate icing, served with cream
  • Chocolate Roulade – Baked chocolate soufflé layer filled with cream and chocolate

TARTS, PIES AND FLANS

  • Chocolate Tart – Pastry case filled with a baked chocolate filling
  • Treacle Tart – Another British favourite: shortcrust pastry case filled with golden syrup lightened with breadcrumbs, eggs and lemon
  • Pecan Pie – Sweet shortcrust pastry case with a pecan nut and maple syrup filling
  • Lemon Tart – Crisp shortcrust pastry case with a sharp, refreshing lemon custard filling
  • Banoffi Pie – Crushed biscuit base with a caramel filling, topped with banana slices, whipped cream and grated chocolate

MERINGUES

  • Pavlova with a choice of toppings:
    • Pineapple & Ginger

    • Chocolate Raspberry pavlova
  • Hazelnut Meringue Gateau – Chocolate and hazelnut meringue discs layered with cream and hazelnut praline
  • Chocolate Meringue Roulade – Meringue roulade with a chocolate, crème fraiche and chestnut filling
  • Strawberry Meringue Roulade – Light meringue roulade with flaked almonds, double cream and strawberries

CREAM AND CUSTARD PUDS

  • Vanilla Panna Cotta with Balsamic Berries – Individual vanilla and orange flavoured panna cottas served with mixed berries marinated in aged balsamic vinegar and sugar
  • Tiramisu – The Classic Italian dessert – sponge fingers, coffee, brandy, mascarpone and chocolate.
  • Old English Trifle – Traditional sherry trifle of sponge, jam and fruit, drizzled with sherry and covered with fresh custard and whipped cream
  • Lemon Posset – Old English pudding of cream set with caster sugar and lemons, served with homemade lemon curd
  • Zuppe Inglese – Italian take on trifle: Brandy-soaked Madeira cake layered alternately with chocolate custard and vanilla custard

CHEESECAKES

  • Tropical Fruit Cheesecake – Coconut biscuit based topped with a creamy mango mixture and decorated with tropical fruits
  • Cherry Cheesecake – Crisp biscuit base topped with a sweet cream cheese filling and black cherries flavoured with Kirsch
  • Lemon & Strawberry Cheesecake – Toasted almond and ginger biscuit base with a creamy lemon filling topped with strawberry sauce
  • New York Cheesecake – Classic baked vanilla cheesecake with a sour cream topping
  • Lemon, Lime and Ginger Cheesecakes – Ginger biscuit base topped with a lemon and lime cream cheese filling and decorated with tropical fruit
  • Chocolate Cheesecake – Chocolate biscuit based topped with a dark chocolate and cream cheese filling

CAKES AND CUPCAKES - Cakes: Cakes are charged at £3 per slice and can be ordered in units of 10.

  • Chocolate Fudge Cake – Chocolate sponge filled and topped with indulgent chocolate frosting
  • Coffee & Walnut Cake – Light walnut sponge layered with creamy coffee icing
  • Carrot Cake – American carrot cake with cream cheese and orange icing
  • Blackforest Gateau – Chocolate and cherries. Need we say more.
  • Citrus Polenta Cake – Moist gluten-free cake made with ground almonds and polenta and drenched in citrus syrup
  • Chocolate Brownies – The ultimate chocolate indulgence!

CUPCAKES

Our cupcakes are made of light vanilla or chocolate sponge topped with a fluffy buttercream icing – choose from vanilla, citrus, or chocolate – and decorated with sprinkles or edible glitter. Vanilla and citrus icing can be coloured. Cupcakes cost £1.90 each with a minimum order of 12. We can also provide more elaborate decorations, personalised or themed cupcakes and are happy to discuss your ideas and give you an individual quote.
